The Most Powerful Book I Ever Read
February 4th, 2010
I'm rereading House to House, a nonfiction account of the Battle of Fallujah, by David Bellavia, for a guest column I am writing, and it is every bit as amazing and as powerful as the first time I read it. It truly is the best book about men at war that I have ever come across.
SSG Bellavia earned a Silver Star for his actions on Nov 10, 2004, and was chronicled at the time in Time magazine by the incomprable Michael Ware...
I dare you to read the above article and NOT pick up a copy of House to House. It is incredibly gripping, moving, literally agonizing to read at times.
I have a massive stack of things to read right now, but am so glad I picked this book up for a second reading. It's that good.
