The Page 69 Test
February 18th, 2010
I have a piece on the really fascinating website "The Page 69 Test". Here is the premise; they get authors to talk about the 69th page of their book, and relate how well it encompasses the story and the spirit of their work.
Please take a look!

Peter Innes: Mr. Gearney, I am into the last few pages of The Gray Man. I have enjoyed your book but have to comment on the idea of taking a blood transfusion from a vet clinic. Whatever animal the blood was from, it would not be compatible with transfusion to a human due to the different antigens. Perhaps a minor point, but as a general/trauma surgeon, I could not overlook it. If you need a medical reference for your next book, please let me know. Looking forward to the last few pages.
Carol Robertson: LOL! I think Mr. Greaney meant human ER clinic, especially with the O positive. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't transfuse with any of the animals blood in our clinic either!(My husband is a Veterinarian) Just like in The Gray Man, we'd get it from a emergency clinic or hospital.(human that is) By the way my husband and I both loved your book and can't wait for the next one. I'm sharing it with all of my friends.
Mark: Dr. Innes- Glad you're enjoying the book! Just to clarify, as Carol rightly points out, Court isn't pumped full of animal blood. The Vet's assistant breaks into a clinic, and steals blood, pains meds, and other items, that she uses to treat him. Carol- So glad you and your husband liked it: On Target will be out on September 28th!
Trey: Good evening all, I am a US Marine currently deployed in Afghanistan. During downtime, I have to have something to read. Big fan of Vince Flynn's Mitch Rapp, Brad Thor's Scott Harvath and Daniel Silva's Gabriel Allon. After reading the Gray Man for a second time, I have to say that Court is at LEAST in the same class as these guys. I don't think any of the above would want to meet Court Gentry in a dark alley. Mark, could you speed it up on the production. I can't wait.
